According to Cushman & Wakefield report, 2019 has been another strong year for the UK student accommodation market, with demand growth continuing to outstrip supply at a national level.
One of the sustainable ways to provide the required dwellings, is to convert an existent building, saving embodied carbon, retrofitting with energy efficiency in mind and breathing a new life into the structure.
CDI Sheffield Office is working to support our client, The Investment Room, in restoring and converting a former office building located in Bradford into 280 student pods.
Accommodation plans comprise of modern living/bedroom pods with en-suite shower room, while the common areas communal rooms, games rooms and large kitchen and dining areas and the gym throughout the building.
CDI’s duties include survey works and a full load assessment of the building, followed by liaison with the local Regional Electrical Company in support of increasing the existing Agreed Service Capacity.
We provide full design works for adaption of the existing electrical infrastructure to accommodate the conversion works.
